Lianyungang 5th International Kite Festival

The day before this festival began, we were very lucky to stumble on the Chinese National kite competition, featuring Dragon kites (or centipedes as we call them) complete with mechanical moving parts, and firecrakers with time delay as they sailed overhead. On the beach of Lianyungang, we saw so many beautiful kites.

Opening Ceremony: Dancers, women in costumes to simulate Chinese kites, martial arts, acrobats, singers, and 3 hours of non-stop entertainment.
